Thinking about getting this gastric band, I wonder why you need two operations for it.
First the put it in and second they have to get it out again. That is the way it is done by operation now.

Does anybody know if they are able to leave off the second operation? I mean they do have material, which is destroying itself after a period of time.

Is it possible to take this self-destroying material for a gastric band?

I can't imagine that you can skip part of the surgery. If it is a two part surgery, you have to go threw both surgeries.

Why would they take the band off? I don't think it's correct. I thought they kept the band in there and then they could tighten it if needed later. My friend had the surgery and she didn't need 2 surgeries.

The band will only be inserted. It will not be taken out again. Where dd you get that information that you need two surgery? Two operation might be life threatening.
