I would advice you to use single serving healthy snacks and readily available. Do not heal pretzels, low sodium crackers Saltin, carrot sticks, single serving size of low-fat cottage cheese all cases be full of energy. The problem is when a child eats next to a box of pretzels. Prepackaged individual portions serves to avoid that. Package portions in zip-locked Baggi you save cash.

First off, find a pediatrician-dietitian to help you prepare the kid's diet. You have to let the kid be of normal weight now. You're right, an overweight kid will likely grow to be an overweight adult. There are a lot of preparation of healthy food that will still be yummy to kids. This is the most common problem because kids don't like vegetables. They want chocolates. But you have to find a professional for this.
