Red face Hair coloring at home

I usually color my hair at home. My hair doesnt get colored completely. The hair near the roots gets thoroughly colored and rest of it just gets a dark shade. Does anyone have any tips on getting this right?

NOTE: I tried it twice in the saloon and didnt get good results there either.

Is your hair really long or thick? You might need to use 2 dyes instead of just one to get full coverage.
My hairs thick and when it was long I alwasy used 2 to make sure everything got a proper coating. Hope this helps :-)
Alternatively you could go to your closest college that way if it's not perfect at least you didn't pay a fortune for it ;-)

I used to dye my hair and it was thick and long with some curls and one bottle of color would work. Keep in mind the color that you are trying to get to on your hair say, dark to light may require a different color. I couldn't rely on the boxes when I did my coloring as I had really dark hair and wanted to lighten it Take into account that some coloring kits don't work as good as others and you don't know if they work or not on your hair until you try them.
Let us know what you find out if you go to salon as they might have tips that we could all use.

Hi

Be it coloring gray hair at home or just for the sake of style, the common mistake you do is, not preparing the hair before applying color. If your hair doesn't meet the ideal conditions, then the hair color fails to gain prominence on your hair. As a result, neither the gray hair is covered ,nor get the proper color you have been seeking for. So check out the following tips. Click on the link to know the hair color instructions.

* Rinse you hair with water. Do not apply shampoo if the hair color cannot stand over shampoo. Allow your hair to completely dry.
* Choose the hair color product from a good reputed brand. Learn the hair coloring ideas and elect the color that will suit your complexion. You might also like to know about choosing a hair color.
* Wear gloves and handles everything with brush and spatula before mixing the coloring agents.
* Read the instruction laid on the packet and mix the exact amount as instructed. Prepare the mix and let it stand at the desired time.
* Once you have prepared the coloring mixture, do a strand test as per the guidelines, to ensure that the product suits you.
* Start applying it with the brush tip, starting from the roots and extending to the tip of the follicle.
* Part your hair in sections for complete coverage and preventing messing up with other strands.
* Now pile each section on top of your head. Use a head wrap or a hair clip to keep the hair intact.
* In case you want to highlight your hair, you can color the selected strands and then separate with aluminum foils.
* Keep a note of the time as indicated on the hair color pack.
* After the time period is over, rinse your hair with water. Ensure that no amount of color or hair dye remains on your hair and the rinsing water runs clear. Use color guard shampoo for every wash.

Thanks

I have really stubborn hair, and even my hairstylist complains in jest. The hair dye takes too long to get absorbed. In fact, it doesn't get absorbed extensively.
